Lori and horseLori began riding at the age in 9, starting her career riding western. Lori showed extensively as a child, working her way to the Junior Grand Nationals. Lori began switching to english in her high school and college years, training and showing jumpers on the local circuits. She earned her AA degree in horse management at Northwest College in Wyoming. Her jumper years then took her to Canada, where she became the barn manager for a large show barn, riding, grooming, and organizing the show season.

Lori then joined her parents in Europe, starting in Germany for a year before moving on to Great Britain. During her years in Europe Lori had the chance to teach and train extensively, in both dressage and jumping. While in Britain she attended the Talland School of Equitation, where she earned both her BHS “AI” and “II” teaching certifications. Lori was also the assistant barn manager for the school.

Once back in the US, Lori worked at the Orme School, a private preparatory school, in Arizona, running and coaching the english riding program. After this, Lori returned to California to earn her degree in physiology from the University of California at Davis. Lori ended up staying at UC Davis, becoming the Assistant Director of the college equestrian program and coaching the Intercollegiate Dressage team, which she helped to create from in its early stages. During her years at UC Davis Lori showed through 4th Level while working part time for trainer Margot Barron as well.

In 2007 Lori decided to finally pursue her dream of running her own training business, specializing in dressage. Lori also specializes in the retraining of troubled horses. She enjoys seeing the progression of her students and horses in training, regardless of what level they are at.
